Boann PX Cask Finish is a small batch single pot still Irish whiskey from the Boann Distillery in County Meath, in a 700ml bottle at 46%. It is triple distilled, matured in casks and then finished in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. It is non-chill filtered.
The finish joins pot still character with the sweetness of sherry, bringing dried fruit, a creamy texture and warming spice.
The nose has dark raisins, fig, honeyed malt, toasted oak and subtle spice. On the palate come rich dried fruit, caramel, sweet sherry, creamy vanilla and pot still spice, and the long, warming finish is slightly sweet, with oak and dark fruit.
