Bomberger's Declaration – Bourbon 2022 Kentucky Straight Bourbon (54%)

Bomberger's Declaration is a small batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon, the 2022 release, bottled at 54%. It honours the former Bomberger's distillery of the 1800s, later known as Michter's in the twentieth century. Part of the whisky is matured in casks made from chinquapin, a wood native to the United States and seldom used for casks, which gives a clear cask character. The colour is golden with a slight reddish edge. The nose offers honey, caramel and stone fruit. The palate is viscous, with light and dark chocolate, peach and light spice, followed by a very long, intense and balanced finish.
