Bowmore – Vault Edition First Release Atlantic Sea Salt (70cl, 51.5%)

Bowmore Vault Edition First Release, titled Atlantic Sea Salt, opens a four-part series from the Islay distillery. It is a limited edition bottled at 51.5% cask strength, non-chill-filtered and of natural pale gold colour, in a 70cl bottle. The whisky was matured in selected ex-bourbon casks in the No.1 Vaults, which sit directly beside the Atlantic. This first release concentrates on the salty, maritime side of Bowmore. On the nose it is sea breeze and salt with citrus, green apples and a little light smoke. The palate is clearly salty, with citrus, creamy vanilla and green fruit over peat smoke. The finish is long, with returning sea salt, gentle sweetness and a touch of smoke.
