Broadbent 10 Year Old Boal Madeira (75cl)

Broadbent 10 Year Old Boal Madeira is a sweet fortified wine from Portugal, made from Boal grapes grown in Calheta, Estreito da Calheta, Arco da Calheta, Estreito de Câmara de Lobos and Campanário. The grapes are picked by hand, destemmed, crushed and pressed, and fermentation is stopped after four to five days with neutral grape spirit to keep the sweetness. The wine is aged in French and American oak casks in the traditional canteiro system. The Broadbent range began in 1996, inspired by Michael Broadbent's love of Madeira. It is a medium deep amber colour, with notes of dark chocolate, molasses and caramel. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with dried fruits, spices and nuts.
