Broadbent 5 Year Reserve Madeira (75cl)

This is a 5 year old reserve Madeira from Broadbent, a range begun in 1996 and inspired by Michael Broadbent's love of the island's wines. It is sold in a 75cl bottle. The wine is a blend of different wines, fortified with neutral alcohol of vinous origin and aged in oak casks for at least five years. It is sweet, yet keeps an acidity and complexity close to that of a vintage Madeira. Dark gold in colour, it has sweet, nutty aromas and sits on the rich side of the Madeira range. Toffee, toasted peanut, buckwheat and date flavours meet fruitiness and aged citrus acidity, leaving a sweet but fresh wine with a lively finish.
