Broadbent 10 Year Old Malmsey Madeira (75cl)

Broadbent 10 Year Old Malmsey is a sweet Madeira made from Malvasia grapes, harvested by hand in several weekly selections. The Broadbent range began in 1996, inspired by Michael Broadbent, who called Madeira his desert island wine. Fermentation in stainless steel is stopped after two to three days by adding neutral grape spirit, which keeps the desired sweetness. The wine is then aged in French and American oak casks in the traditional canteiro system. Brilliant deep amber in colour, it smells of caramel, dark chocolate and toffee. The palate is sweet, soft and richly textured, with a mellow but strong character.
