Brother's Bond Cask Strength Bourbon is a barrel-proof bourbon bottled at 57.55% in a 75cl bottle, without cutting or chill filtering. The brand was co-founded by the actors Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley.
The spirit is distilled at MGP in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, from a four-grain mashbill of 65% corn, 22% rye, and 13% wheat and malted barley. Each batch is made from about 70 hand-selected barrels, so the strength can vary slightly.
The nose shows ripe banana, walnut, warmed rye bread, leather and a little smoke. The palate is caramel and honey, then rye spice, cinnamon, cocoa and dried fruit. The finish is long, with honey, vanilla and rye spice settling into leather and toasted grain.
