Double Eagle Very Rare is a 20-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, bottled at 45% ABV in a 75cl bottle. This is the 2026 release, produced in fewer than 2,000 bottles a year.
The bourbon spent twenty years in new American white oak. It comes in a hand-blown crystal decanter with a golden eagle stopper.
The nose has deep caramel, dark cherry, leather, vanilla, toasted oak and a little tobacco. The palate offers rich toffee, dried fruit, baking spice, worn leather and dark chocolate. The finish is very long and warming, with persistent oak and spice.
