George T. Stagg is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace, here the 2017 release, bottled at barrel proof: 64.6% ABV, or 129.2 proof, in a 75cl bottle.
Caramel is the thread through it, arriving early and lasting to the finish. Around it come nutmeg, cinnamon, jasmine, rose petals, baked apples, fudge, pecan pie, peanut brittle and roasted peanuts.
The palate is mouth-coating, and the extremely long finish carries a rich, chewy caramel.
