Buffalo Trace – Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (75cl, 45%)

Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon is made at the Buffalo Trace distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, from corn, rye and malted barley. It is aged in new oak barrels and bottled at 45% ABV in a 750ml bottle. The distillery describes itself as the oldest continuously operating in America, and it kept running through Prohibition under a permit to make whiskey for medicinal purposes. The nose is vanilla, mint and molasses. The palate is pleasantly sweet, with brown sugar and spice giving way to oak, toffee, dark fruit and anise. The finish is long and smooth.
