Buffalo Trace – Kosher Wheat Recipe Bourbon (47%)

This is a wheated Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace, made in Frankfort and bottled at 47% ABV (94 proof). Wheat takes the place of the rye found in many bourbon recipes, giving a softer, gently sweet style. It belongs to the distillery's kosher whiskey collection, produced under the supervision of the Chicago Rabbinical Council with barrels dedicated to kosher spirits. The collection was introduced in 2020 with three expressions, this one among them. The nose is soft vanilla, sweet wheat and orchard fruit, with gentle caramelised grain and oak beneath. The palate is smooth and rounded, with vanilla and ripe fruit.
