Buffalo Trace – O.F.C. Vintage 2005 Bourbon Whiskey (75cl)

This is a vintage-dated bourbon from Buffalo Trace, distilled in 2005 and bottled in 75cl hand-cut crystal. It pays tribute to the historic O.F.C. Distillery, founded by Colonel E.H. Taylor Jr. in 1870. That distillery introduced copper fermentation vats, column stills and a steam heating system, all still part of production at what is now Buffalo Trace Distillery. The nose opens with cherry cordial, caramel and a hint of smoked oak. The palate has dark chocolate, tobacco leaf and subtle dates. The finish brings leather, black pepper and cinnamon.
