Buffalo Trace – OFC 1995 25 Year Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon (75cl)

This is a 25 year old Kentucky straight bourbon from the O.F.C. Vintage series, distilled in 1995. It comes in a 750ml hand-cut crystal bottle dated to the year of distillation, with a wooden case. The O.F.C. name goes back to the original distillery that Colonel E.H. Taylor Jr. christened in 1870, known for copper fermentation vats, column stills and a steam heating system. It was made at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, a National Historic Landmark. The nose is caramel, vanilla and oak, with a little dried fruit and spice. The palate is full-bodied, with layers of toffee, oak and gentle spice, leading to a long, smooth finish.
