Buffalo Trace – The Last Drop XIX 1980 (75cl)

The Last Drop XIX 1980 is a Kentucky straight bourbon distilled at Buffalo Trace in 1980 and bottled by The Last Drop Distillers, in a 750ml bottle. It matured in virgin American oak for nearly 20 years. The bourbon then lay undisturbed in a corner of the distillery until The Last Drop Distillers, founded in London in 2008 to find and bottle forgotten aged spirit, identified it. The nose has caramel, dark fruit, toasted oak and vanilla. The palate brings toffee, dark cherry, leather and oak tannins, and the finish is very long, with oak spice and dark fruit fading into a warm, clean close.
