A 12 year old Islay single malt from Bunnahabhain, in a 20cl bottle at 46.3% ABV.
The distillery stands on the north-eastern corner of Islay, directly opposite Jura. It was so remote when built in 1881 that a long, winding road to the sea had to be made first. Its water comes from an underground spring, the Margadale, and carries relatively little peat for Islay.
Ownership stayed with the founders' descendants until 2003. Burn Stewart Distillers owns Bunnahabhain today.
