This is Bunnahabhain aged 12 years, an Islay single malt bottled by the distillery at 46.3% in a 70cl bottle.
The distillery sits on the north-eastern corner of Islay, facing the island of Jura across the Sound. It was built in 1881, and a long road to the shore had to be laid first because the site was so isolated. Water for making the whisky comes from an underground source, the Margadale river, and is relatively low in peat for Islay. Burn Stewart Distillers is the current owner.
