This is a 17 year old Bunnahabhain from the 2023 Fèis Ìle edition, in a 70cl bottle at 52.6% ABV.
The distillery stands on the north-eastern corner of Islay, directly facing Jura. It was built in 1881, so far from anywhere that a long, curving road to the shore came first. Its water rises from an underground spring, the Margadale, and holds relatively little peat for Islay.
The founders' descendants owned the distillery until 2003, and Burn Stewart Distillers owns it now.
