Bunnahabhain – 18 Year Old (46.3%)

An 18 year old Islay single malt from Bunnahabhain, matured in sherry casks and bottled at 46.3% without chill-filtration or added colour. The distillery was founded in 1881 on the northern shore of Islay and makes an unpeated spirit. The long maturation in sherry casks by the coast brings dried fruit, honeyed nuttiness and warming spice, with a faint hint of sea salt on the palate. The nose is dried fruit, honeyed nuts, toffee and a little spice. The palate offers mellow sherried nuts, dried fruit and rich oak with toffee and a slight salty tang. The finish is dry and fruity, with spice and salt.
