A 1998 Bunnahabhain single malt from Islay, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail under the Awakening name at 50.6% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
The distillery sits on the north-eastern corner of Islay, directly opposite Jura. It was built in 1881, and a long, curving road to the shore had to be made first because the site was so isolated. Its water comes from an underground spring, and the peat influence is relatively light for the island. Burn Stewart Distillers is the present owner, following the founders' descendants and Highland Distillers.
