Bunnahabhain – 2001 Signatory Syminton (70cl, 59.5%)

This is a 2001 Bunnahabhain single malt from Islay, bottled by Signatory under the Syminton name at 59.5% ABV. It comes in a 70cl bottle. The distillery stands on the north-eastern corner of Islay, on the Sound of Islay directly opposite Jura. The site was so remote that a long, winding road down to the shore had to be built before the distillery itself went up in 1881. Its water comes from an underground spring, the Margadale river, and carries relatively little peat for Islay.
