Bunnahabhain – 2007 Malts of Scotland (70cl, 55.1%)

A 2007 Bunnahabhain single malt from Islay, bottled by Malts of Scotland at 55.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The distillery occupies the north-eastern corner of Islay, directly across the Sound of Islay from Jura. Its remote position meant a long, curving road down to the water had to be built before construction began in 1881. The spring that supplies its water is underground, fed by the Margadale river, and the water contains relatively little peat for Islay. The distillery is now owned by Burn Stewart Distillers.
