Bushmills 30 Year Old is an Irish single malt from the Old Bushmills Distillery in Northern Ireland. It spent 14 years maturing in bourbon barrels and sherry butts, then a further 16 years finishing in first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. This was the first release, with 1,500 bottles produced, and it is bottled at 40% ABV without chill filtration.
The nose is full of dried fruit, raisins and molasses, with dark chocolate and deep PX sherry character. The palate is rich and elegant, with dried figs, raisins and dark chocolate alongside well-integrated oak and sherry. The finish is very long, with persistent dried fruit, molasses and spice.
