Bushmills Black Bush is a blended Irish whiskey from the Old Bushmills Distillery in Northern Ireland. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
The blend is 80% malt whiskey and 20% lighter grain whiskey, triple distilled and aged for up to 8 years in ex-Oloroso sherry casks. The high malt share is unusual for a blended Irish whiskey.
The nose is rich fruitcake, sherry sweetness, dried fruit and nuts. The palate is full and silky, with fruitcake, Oloroso sweetness and a nutty character, and the finish is long and warm, staying nutty with sherry sweetness lingering.
