Age

Cask Type
Sherry hogshead
A single cask Highland Park, matured for 21 years in a sherry hogshead and selected by the Swiss independent bottler C. Dully Selection. The bottler calls it Old School, with a character reminiscent of bottlings from several decades ago, and finds a better balance between the sherry cask and the distillery's own character than in some modern sherry-led whiskies. Highland Park still uses traditional floor malting and smokes its barley with heather peat from Hobbister Moor on Orkney. The nose brings antique furniture, old leather, beeswax, dried figs and dates, with heather honey and gentle peat smoke. The palate is rich yet balanced, with bitter orange marmalade, walnuts and fruitcake. The finish is long, with dark fruits, bitter chocolate and earthy smoke.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
