Caisteal Chamuis 12 Years (70cl, 46%)

Caisteal Chamuis 12 Years is a blended malt Scotch whisky made from island single malts, all distilled on the Scottish islands and matured for at least twelve years. The malts come from Islay and Orkney, including Highland Park, and it is bottled at 46%. The blend was matured in American oak hogsheads and finished in Oloroso sherry casks. The finish adds a light sweetness and softens the maritime peat, leaving a smoky, rounded whisky. The nose is smoky and powerful, sweet and creamy, with butterscotch, maritime notes, heather and peppery spice. The palate is full and soft, with caramel, nuts, heather, oak and a fine thread of smoke. The finish is long, with brown sugar and banana.
