Clan Colla 13 Year Old is an Irish blend of grain whiskey and double-distilled malt whiskey. It was matured in ex-bourbon casks and then given a generous finish in Oloroso casks from Jerez. Gareth McAllister chose the whiskeys and casks. It comes from the Family Bond Series, bottled at 46%, non-chill-filtered and with no added colouring.
The nose offers apple and orange with bright citrus, toasted oak, honey and creamy notes. The palate is soft and creamy-sweet, with citrus and sherry moving into other fruit, nuts, caramel and fresh apricot, alongside a mature malty note. The finish is deep and rounded, growing warmer as fruit and nuts linger.
