This is a straight rye whiskey from Buffalo Trace Distillery, added to the Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Collection. It is bottled at barrel proof, 126 proof, and is both uncut and unfiltered. The release is named after Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr., who bought the O.F.C. Distillery, now Buffalo Trace, in 1869.
The nose brings white pepper, nutty undertones, fresh floral notes and candied apricot. On the palate, sweet dried stone fruit is set against pepper and oaky dryness, and the finish is long and honey-sweet.
