Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Small Batch is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, bottled at 50% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
It is Bottled-in-Bond, which means it comes from a single distillery and one distilling season, has spent at least four years in a bonded warehouse and is bottled at 100 proof. The barrels are hand-selected, aged in warehouses built by Colonel Taylor himself and then blended for balance.
The nose offers caramel, vanilla and dried fruit. On the palate there is butterscotch, baking spice and sweet corn, followed by a long, warming finish of toasted oak and a touch of peppery rye.
