Colonel E.H. Taylor Seasoned Wood Bourbon (75cl, 50%)

Colonel E.H. Taylor Seasoned Wood is an experimental bourbon from the Colonel E.H. Taylor collection at Buffalo Trace, bottled at 100 proof in a 75cl bottle and supplied in a tube. It is aged in barrels made from oak that was seasoned for an extended period before the barrels were built, with the staves left in the open air for longer than usual. The aim is a deeper, more integrated contribution from the wood. The appearance is deep amber with golden highlights. The nose offers caramel, vanilla and seasoned oak. The palate is smooth and balanced, with toffee, spice and a touch of sweetness, leading to a long, warm finish.
