Connemara is a peated Irish single malt made at Cooley Distillery in County Louth, in a 70cl bottle. The malted barley is dried over peat fires before double distillation.
The nose offers sweet barley and baked apple, then gentle peat smoke, kippers and a touch of vanilla oak. Honeyed malt and soft smoke lead the palate, with light spice, barley water and delicate vegetal peat. The finish carries lingering sweet smoke, warming oak spice and a clean malty note.
