Tyrconnell 10 Year Old Sherry Cask Finish Single Malt (75cl)

Tyrconnell 10 Year Old Sherry Cask Finish is an Irish single malt from the Cooley Wood Finishes collection, finished in sherry casks. It is bottled in 75cl. The Tyrconnell name goes back to a racehorse owned by the Watt family of Donegal and Derry, whose colt won a major race at odds of 100 to 1. The family created a whiskey brand in its honour. After Prohibition the old brand disappeared, and it was among the first to be revived when Dr John Teeling rebuilt the Cooley Distillery. The nose is led by Fino-like sherry with juicy raisins, golden berries and a hint of mint. The palate has thick Fino sherry, tarte tatin and custard, and the finish brings apple tart and cinnamon.
