Tyrconnell 10 Year Old Port Finish Single Malt (75cl)

Tyrconnell 10 Year Old is an Irish single malt from Cooley, finished in used port casks in a 75cl bottle. The finish lasts a further six to eight months, and the expression belongs to the Cooley Wood Finishes collection. The brand takes its name from a racehorse owned by the Watt family of Donegal and Derry, which won a major race at odds of 100 to 1. Dr John Teeling revived the name when he rebuilt Cooley. The nose is fruity and sweet, with fruit and nut chocolate, red fruits and roasted nuts. The palate is quite light and soft, with dried fruits, roasted nuts, caramel and toffee. The colour is golden with reddish tones.
