This is a Craigellachie single malt from the 2009 vintage, bottled by Thompson Bros at 50% in a 70cl bottle. Craigellachie is a Speyside distillery, built in 1891 and founded by several people, Peter Mackie among them. The distillery was enlarged to four stills in its 1964 renovation. Its vapour is cooled in worm tubs, coiled copper pipes, so the new make has little contact with copper, which gives a robust flavour. The water now comes from Blue Hill rather than the Hill of Little Conval.
