A small batch Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 100 proof (50%) in a 750ml bottle, without chill filtration. The Cream of Kentucky name dates to 1888, when I. Trager & Co. of Cincinnati introduced it. Jim Rutledge revived it through the J.W. Rutledge Distillery.
The mashbill is 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley.
The nose is honeyed pear and baked apple, with orange blossom, toasted oak and vanilla. The palate brings crème brûlée, cocoa, cinnamon, raspberry and banana, with warming rye spice. The finish is medium-long, with honey, soft oak and baked red apple.
