Dalmore – 12 Years Sherry Cask Select (70cl, 43%)

This is a 12 year old single malt from Dalmore in the Highlands, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is an official distillery bottling. The whisky first matured in American white oak, then finished in three different Oloroso sherry casks. The nutty character suggests Pedro Ximenez may also have played a part. The nose offers caramelised orange, ginger and sultanas with a drizzle of honey. On the palate come dark chocolate, ground almonds and a little cinnamon, and the finish brings sweet mango, panna cotta and lemon cake.
