A single malt from Dalmore, the 2004 vintage, bottled by Duncan Taylor under the name The Octave. It comes at 55.1% in a 70cl bottle. Dalmore stands on the north shore of the Cromarty Firth, near Alness, in the northern Highlands. The distillery was founded in 1839 and began using sherry casks for storage as early as 1870, which are said to give its smoky, slightly dry malt a soft sweetness.
