Daniel Weller Emmer Wheat Recipe is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace in Frankfort, Kentucky, in a 750ml bottle. It uses emmer, an ancient hulled wheat, as the secondary grain in place of the modern wheat found in the W.L. Weller and William Larue Weller bourbons.
It is named for Daniel Weller, a descendant of W.L. Weller, and carries on the family's wheated bourbon tradition.
The nose is the Weller wheated foundation with a distinctive nuttiness and grain complexity. The palate layers caramel and vanilla with the character of the emmer, and the finish is long, with that grain complexity persisting.
