Dartigalongue 50 Year Old Bas Armagnac (75cl, 40%)

Dartigalongue 50 Year Old is a Bas Armagnac aged for a minimum of fifty years in oak, bottled at 40% in a 75cl bottle. The house distils Ugni Blanc in a traditional alambic armagnacais. Its distinguishing feature is the dry cellars in the upper attics of the estate, where the barrels experience marked seasonal swings in temperature, from warm summers to cool winters. The nose opens with warm vanilla and candied orange zest, with a delicate floral touch, then aged oak and dried fruit. The palate is fresh and lively, with candied citrus, honeyed oak and refined tannins. The finish is long and delicate, with vanilla, dried flowers and polished wood.
