XO Signature is a Bas-Armagnac from Dartigalongue, a family house based in Nogaro since 1838. It is a blend of several vintages, with the youngest Armagnac in it aged at least 12 years. Some of the eaux-de-vie bring fruit and others add structure and complexity. It is bottled at 42%.
The house aims for freshness and elegance, and here the oak stays in balance with the fruit, adding toasted and spicy notes.
The nose shows candied orange and pineapple, with vanilla, raisins, spice and sandalwood. The palate is generous and round, with candied fruit, vanilla, spice and toasted oak. The finish is long, returning to candied fruit, spice and sandalwood.
