Big Peat is a blended malt from Douglas Laing, made only from Islay single malts. Ardbeg, Caol Ila, Bowmore and Port Ellen are among the distilleries in the recipe, and it comes from a small batch bottling at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
Each component has a role: Caol Ila brings sweetness, Bowmore balance, Ardbeg a medicinal, earthy quality and Port Ellen a degree of elegance. It is bottled without colouring or chill-filtration and belongs to the Remarkable Regional Malts range.
