Douglas Laing Timorous Beastie Phantom Smoke (54.2%)

Phantom Smoke is a Highland blended malt Scotch whisky from Douglas Laing, and the first time the Timorous Beastie series has included peat smoke. A peated Highland malt was married with the regular Timorous Beastie, then given an extended maturation in heavily charred Crocodile casks, named for the cracked, patterned look of the deeply burnt oak. It is bottled at 54.2%, without added colour or chill-filtration, in a limited edition within the Remarkable Regional Malts range. Smouldering peat, spice and charred oak are balanced by a Highland sweetness.
