Cuvée Charles de Gaulle is a non-vintage Brut Champagne from Drappier, a house founded in 1808 in Urville in the Aube. It is built on Pinot Noir, which makes up 80% of the blend, and was launched in 1990 as a tribute to the General.
Part of the wine is aged in wood, followed by 36 months of bottle ageing. The dosage is 7 g/L.
The nose offers ripe cherry liqueur, saline notes and fresh flowers. The palate is medium to full-bodied, powerful and assertive, with intense fruit, an airy mousse and slightly candied notes. The finish is long and pure.
