Eagle Rare is a Kentucky straight bourbon made at Buffalo Trace Distillery, aged for at least 10 years in new American oak barrels and bottled at 45% ABV (90 proof) in a 70cl bottle.
It is a small-batch bourbon, sold in a tall bottle with an eagle etched into the glass.
The nose combines honey, toasted oak, dried orange peel and baking spice. On the palate come toffee, dark fruit, vanilla, leather and a little tobacco. The finish is long, dry and warming, with oak and spiced sweetness.
