This is the 2023 release of Eagle Rare 17 Year, a Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort and part of the 2023 Buffalo Trace Antique Collection. It is bottled at 50.5% ABV (101 proof).
The label states 17 years, but this release was matured for 19 years and 3 months in new charred American oak.
The nose is described as dark cherries, seasoned oak, caramel and vanilla, with aged leather, tobacco and baking spices. The palate brings dark chocolate, toffee, dried fruit and toasted oak, and the finish is long, with mature oak, dark caramel, baking spices and sweet tobacco.
