Elements of Islay Lg12 (50cl, 55.4%)

Elements of Islay Lg12 is a limited-edition Islay single malt from Lagavulin, bottled by Elixir Distillers at 55.4% in a 500ml bottle without reduction or cold filtration. It comes from two ex-bourbon barrels filled in 2007 and matured for more than 14 years. It belongs to the Elements of Islay series, which is built around peat. Smoke here is described as scented wood smoke, with a floral accent. The nose is fresh, with smoked bacon, salted butter caramel and spices. The palate is full yet delicate, with dried beef, floral notes and smoky malted barley. The finish has delicate smoke, clove and fine wood.
