Elijah Craig 23 Year Old Single Barrel is a Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey from Heaven Hill Bernheim Distillery in Louisville, Kentucky. It is the oldest age-statement expression in the Elijah Craig line and one of the oldest commercially released single barrel bourbons in American production. At 23 years, the bourbon has spent nearly a quarter century cycling through Kentucky's temperature swings, extracting colour, flavour and complexity from new charred American oak. The single barrel format means no two bottles are identical. The appearance is very deep amber. The nose brings caramel, leather, aged oak and dried fruit. The palate is rich and full, with deep oak integration, vanilla, caramel, leather, warm spice and dried fruit. The finish is long and oak-forward, evolving rather than simply fading.
