Elixir Distillers Elements of Islay Fireside (54.5%)

A blended malt Scotch whisky from Elixir Distillers, made from the malts of two distilleries on the north coast of Islay, bottled at 54.5% ABV. It matured in a combination of heavily charred hogsheads, American oak Oloroso sherry hogsheads and European oak Oloroso sherry butts. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The idea behind it is a smoky dram by the fire with friends after being caught in an Islay rain shower. The character is strong, with fireside smoke, rich red fruit and candied orange.
