A single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 45% ABV in a 750ml bottle as the 90th Birthday Edition of Elmer T. Lee. It marks the birthday of the Master Distiller who created Blanton's Single Barrel Bourbon and began work at what is now Buffalo Trace Distillery in 1949.
It is made with the high-rye Buffalo Trace mash bill also used for Blanton's, Rock Hill Farms, Ancient Age and Hancock's Reserve.
The nose is clove, vanilla and old leather. The palate brings fruit, honey and vanilla with a light spiciness, and the finish is long and warm, with oak, tannins and a tinge of burnt sugar and caramel.
