A single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon from Evan Williams, made by Heaven Hill in Bardstown and released as a Vintage 2016. It is bottled at 43.3% ABV after roughly nine years in new charred American oak. Each bottle carries its barrel number, barrel date and year of bottling.
The nose is caramel and vanilla with soft oak spice, ripe peach, baked apple and a little orange zest. The palate is medium-bodied, with honey, brown sugar and sweet corn, cinnamon, nutmeg and light char, plus dried apricot and apple peel. The finish is long and even, with brown sugar, toasted oak, baking spice and fruit kernel.
