First-fill bourbon barrel
This is a 14 year old Irish single malt from Fercullen, matured in first-fill bourbon barrels and bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The spirit was bought in by Powerscourt from the Cooley distillery. It was made there by Noel Sweeney, who is now Powerscourt's Master Distiller. Fercullen is the English form of Fera Cualann, the old Gaelic name for the Powerscourt Estate and the land around it. The nose is honey, vanilla, sweet malt, spice, almonds, cinnamon and plums. The palate is silky, with sweet malt and crisp oak, and the finish starts malty before ending on lingering sweet spice and fresh fruit.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
